North & South island Kōkako - 32cm round

Have you ever heard the waiata (song) of a kōkako? If not, please google it and listen to it. It's beautiful! 

This unique piece of art features the North and South Island kōkako. The South island kōkako, is actually the manu (bird) at the top, with the orange wattles, with the North island kōkako on the lower branch. I decided to paint the 'Southey' on the top branch in honour of it, seeing as they are extinct. 

It's hard to call favourites when you truly love all manu o Aotearoa, but the kōkako is up there as a fave! 

As per, this unique piece of art has been hand painted on a 32cm acacia wooden round, sealed and ready to hang in your home.
